Have been debating whether or not to post this review as Jemma Kidd make up is being discontinued but thought I would share my thoughts anyway. This is the first Jemma Kidd product I have tried and got with the December issue of Marie Claire. I do love the packaging and the size of the sample however its what's inside that counts.
The wand is a classic fibre brush which applies plently of the product, along with a large dollop at the end!! I did notice a slight whiff when applying but I think I might be more sensitive to smells then I realised. When applied I wasn't blown away by the results the best way I can describe the end result was spidery, kind of long and a bit messy looking.
My biggest issue with the mascara is longevity and removal, I had been wearing the mascara for a couple of hours when I noticed that it had start to flake and crumble and there were tiny specks of black over my face. I wiped them off, but more of the buggers were back in a few hours. This was nothing compared to the mess when I removed. I have never used a mascara that crumbles everywhere on removal, until now!
Due to these issues I will be throwing this out as I can only imagine it will get worse with time.
I am now on the hunt for a new mascara I have one more freebie to try and then I will be hitting the shops I love the Lancome Hypnose Star but not the price, has anyone got any recommendations?
I got this with the November issue of Marie Claire and with the recent cold snap seem to be going through hand cream like it's going out of fashion. I picked the rose scented version after loving the smell of Super Facialist by Una Brennan Rose Cleanser. The scent is described a 'floral fragrance evoking sugar-coated rose petals' on the back of the product and is very lightly scented. To be honest I prefer the smell of the Super Facial as it is stronger but some might prefer a less scented hand cream.
The cream is thick and very nourishing due to the shea butter, I find it best to put a few little dollops on your hands on the palms and back of the hands as you don't need a lot as it is so concentrated. Momentarily it does leave your hands a bit greasy looking but soon sinks in and leaves your skin moisturised for hours. I only need to reapply after I wash my hands as this really does last.
I have noticed my hands feeling much softer and smoother since using this, and really is a miracle worker. The only bad think about this is 30ml is not going to last me very long at all as I have been using for two weeks and already used nearly half.
I would strongly recommend anyone suffering from dry hands try a L'Occitane hand cream you can still pick up the limited edition Rose Petal version from uk.loccitane.com for £4.80 for 30ml.
I got this with the August edition of Glamour and was looking forward to trying this out. On the blurb on the back it claims to 'smooth away the years and add radiance to dull complexions' and lets face it who doesn't want that.
The first thing I have to mention is the smell, be warned its strong and I personally don't find it very pleasant. I am sure that there are people out there who would love it. It reminds me of old fashioned aromatherapy oils. I do think you become somewhat immune to the scent as at first I did think I might have to throw the product out but now it doesn't bother me as much.
It is quite a light texture and does absorb quickly into the skin but I do not find this to be particularly hydrating - after reading beautymouth.com I think I may have dehydrated skin. The thing I find most strange about this product is that my skin actually feels better before I use this. I notice this mostly in the evening after cleansing with my Super Facialist Cleanser my skin feels smooth and soft but when I put this on my skin feels less plump and hydrated. I don't know how that works but I have also noticed that my forehead has got worse again with my make up looking patchy after a few hours and my forehead feeling oily by the end of the day.
With regards to the claims made, I don't think it made my skin look radiant or any younger, but it might do on the right skin type. I am glad I got to try this out before buying as I just don't think that is suitable for my skin. It does say its for normal to combination skin which I thought my skin was but maybe not.
I am planning on buying a few products that Caroline recommends for dehydrated skin with my Christmas money and obviously I will let you know what I got and if they work.

I got this with the October issue of Instyle and was very excited to try it out after not being overly impressed with Origins Plantscription Anti Aging Serum. I had to look online for guidance as the 7ml sample size had no information on the back. I found that you are meant to use three drops twice a day to 'visibly reduce lines and wrinkles whilst repairing UV / Photo damage to the skin and improves texture for a smoother younger looking appearence.'
One issue with the freebie is that it didnt have a dispenser so wasn't sure how much product three drops was. I didn't notice any smell with this product and it sunk into the skin quickly. I noticed that my skin did feel smoother after using this I am not sure whether my fine lines have reduced but I did feel that this has improved the texture of my skin.
As I said I am not sure whether this has made any difference to my fine lines, some days it does look better, other days i am tempted to get botox! I don't know if anything will actually get rid of them once the little buggers have appeared but I did feel that this made a difference to my skin.
That said I don't know if I will get the full size I am so confused about skincare at the minute, I am not sure what products I should on my skin now I am getting older. I have been tempted to try Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair but the smallest size is £44 so bit of an expensive gamble especially when I have enjoyed using this and seen a difference in my skin. Is anyone else as confused as I am?

I really need to start writing posts for all the freebies I have collected with magazines so decided to start Freebie Friday I very much doubt that this will be a weekly feature, due to working full time and studying. I just want to reiterate that although this is called Freebie Friday I haven't been sent this it I bought with Tatler in their September issue.
I do love getting Freebie mascaras as they tend to dry out quickly and aren't a product you should have hanging around your collection for months. The small sizes are great and take up less space in your make up bag to.
The wand for this is different to anything I have ever seen before from one side looks normal the other looks like a Christmas tree with bristles longer at the bottom and shorter at the top.
I was unsure how I would get on with the wand but I actually really love it, found the different lengths really useful for getting those little lashes in the corner of your eyes and was even easy to use on bottom lashes. It made my lashes look very black, long and full It didn't clump and lasts all day without flaking or smudging but is still easy to remove.
I only have a couple of little niggles with this, one is the smell its not overpowering or horrid I just don't understand why you would want your mascara to have a scent. The other thing if you cry whilst wearing this your eyes may sting, I can't remember what made me cry but ouch my eyes stung and I am pretty sure it was this .
They are only small things and I have been reaching for this much more then my Body Shop Divide and Multiply Mascara.
Would I buy a full size? I am not sure I love the packaging of the full size but £21 for a product that you should only keep for a maximum of 6 months seems a bit much. I really wished I picked up some more copies of the magazine now.
