7 Things September

It's that time of the month again to post my update on Sprinkle of Glitter's 7 Things, is it just me or are the months going faster and faster.

My first thing was to get back in target with Slimming World I am claiming this as a success as I lost 3lbs to get back to my target weight.  I have since been on holiday and missed two weigh in's so not looking forward to this Thursday.

Secondly I wanted to sort out my recipes I have made a start on this and to be honest I didn't really grasp how time consuming this would be.  I have gone through one magazine and written out all the recipes we wanted to keep and made a start on the second.

I also wanted to relax and make more time for myself this month I did have a lovely relaxing holiday but the rest of the month has been rather stressful.

I haven't sorted out my knitting stash at all

Again I started my PTOTD tweets but then I missed a couple of days and also didn't have great wi-fi on holiday so didn't do very well on this one.

Making time for my boyfriend didn't really work out this month as planned as he worked away in Mansfield for the the majority of the month.  We did spend a lot of time together on holiday and when he was back at the weekends, I even went to the football so guess I did as much as I could.

I did take lots of photo's at the wedding I went to, and took more on holiday then I did last year.

Overall not a bad month.

In October I will

1) Continue to sort through my recipes and recycle the magazines they came from.

2) Keep up to date with my studying I have started my AAT Level 4 and I am determined to keep on top of it so when my exams come round I don't have hours of catching up and can just get on with the revision.

3) Finish reading Emma I didn't take it on holiday as I only have all Jane Austen's novels in one book, but I really want to finish and start cracking on with The Big Read

4) Start planning for Christmas. I always end up buying everything in December and really struggle financially so want to start buying bits and pieces in October so I can enjoy the festive period.

5) Curb my spending I am going to try and not buy any cosmetics or nail polish until I go to Manchester in December unless it is an essential and I don't have anything in my stash I could use.

6) Blog more, I have lots of posts I want to write I just need to get on and write them.

7) Knit something however small, maybe now the weather is changing I will be able to get back into it.

7 Things August

Thought I was doing quite well last month on the old  7 Things  by  Sprinkle of Glitter but after seeing my goals maybe not so here is how I did.

1). I did not go to the gym twice a week in fact I think I went three times in the whole month.  I am also not a member of the gym any more as this was a work benefit. I will be starting a new job in September so my membership has been cancelled - oh well wasn't like I was going.

2). I haven't knitted anything this month - I have thought about picking up the old needles several times but that is as far as I got.

3). I have started The Big Read and you can read my latest post about Emma by Jane Austen here

4). This one has gone very wrong as instead of being at my lowest I am actually not in my target as I went over by half a pound at my last weigh in.

5). My photographs are now on my digital photo frame I haven't decided where my frame will go in my house as I am limited as it needs to be near a plug but my photos are on it none the less.

6). I did actually manage not to buy any nail polish yes I did get a collection from QVC but they were on auto delivery so don't count.

7). I did start with the tweeting positive things but then I stopped and I don't really know why, as I do think my positive attitude helped get me my new job.

In September I will

1). Get back in target with Slimming World I have set up an online food diary and decided to go back to have fruit and fat free yoghurt for breakfast as this is what I did to lose the 1 stone 8lbs so it clearly works for me.

2). To sort out some of our recipes, we have a small metal box with a load of blank recipes cards in and a stack load of magazines we have kept for the recipes, s=o I will make a start of transferring and recycling the magazines.

3). To make time to relax, recently I have felt very stressed and know that starting a new job and studying towards my AAT level 4 is probably going to send my stress levels higher so think I need to make time and just chill, thinking nice long baths with a book or even going for a walk.

4). To sort through my knitting stash in an attempt to rekindle my love of knitting - I used to always have a project on the go but since getting a house with my boyfriend over 15 months ago have hardly done any.  If it doesn't work may have to think about selling some of it.

5). To restart my PTOTD again as think I will need some positive thinking especially before my first day of my new job.

6). To make more time for my boyfriend think this links in with relaxing as we have both been mega stressed recently.

7). To take lots of photos have a wedding to go to and jetting off to Turkey this month, just need to remember to take lots of pics, as I usually forget.

7 Things - July

I decided to take part in sprinkle of glitter 7 Things in June and must admit that I got a bit confused and set my goals for the rest of the month instead of the following month doh!!!
So here are my goals for August (which might look similar to my original post)

1) To go to the gym at least twice week aiming for one gym session and one swim.

2) To really make an effort to get back into my knitting and make some things for my local neonatal unit.

3) To read or at least start one book from the BBC Big Read am thinking Emma or Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

4) To get back to my lowest weight within my target range at Slimming World and stay there instead of going up and down.

5) To sort my photos and put in my digital photo frame, which my boyfriend got me for me last year!

6) To not buy any nail polish they are my biggest weakness I just cannot stop buying them. I will be acquiring 7 Nails Inc from QVC as they are pre ordered but other then that I will resist.

7) To try and be more positive am going to try and tweet a positive thought of the day every day in so when I am feeling a bit low can look back at all my #PTOTD

Is anyone else taking part?

7 Things June #2

After deciding to take part in the lovely Sprinkle Of Glitter 7 Things I thought I should post an update seeing as it's the last day of June! Click here to see my 7 Things
The first thing was too sort out my wardrobe which I have done.  I literally tried every item of clothing I owned.  I only binned a few items but did manage to fill a black bin bag full of clothes that are still in good condition that I am either going to try and sell on Ebay or give to charity.

The second thing hasn't gone so well which was to get back on track with Slimming World as I am only just in target.  But when I went to my weigh in on Thursday I received a little booklet called Slim for Life, made for target members crammed with advice on staying at target - just what I need so have read it cover to cover and determined to at least not gain this week.

The third is to join a gym which I have kind of done - how do you kind of join a gym?  Well work and the gym next to my office have an agreement that employees can park in the gym car park if they are members so work offers half price membership, but you have to park across the road.  I have signed up but a space isn't currently available, but will be the end of July (and that is how you kind of join a gym)

The next thing I haven't really achieved either (I know what have I been doing) which was to start knitting again.  I did go to my local Hobbycraft and buy a pattern book fully of lovely pieces for premature babies and some lovely soft green baby wool.  I just need to get my needles out and actually knit something.

I have started to plan my blogposts (although as I am sure you have noticed haven't actually done any - tut tut) but have written lots of ideas in my lovely little notebook below.  I just need to write them.
I haven't started BBC Big Read yet either but have gone through the list and written down which books I actually own so I can start with one of those am thinking Pride and Prejudice or Emma by Jane Austen.  The reason I haven't started is that my lovely friend Gemma has lent me some books from Paige Toon and Melissa Hill so wanted to read them first, as I hate when you lend stuff out and don't get them back for ages.  So far I have read Johnny Be Good and Chasing Daisy which are great chick lit I loved Chasing Daisy.

The last thing was to finish painting the fence, we (well my boyfriend) have done some more but  but I hope we (he) will finish soon.

Overall I think I did pretty bad - much try harder in July (PS I still don't know what is happening with the gaps sorry it really bugs me too)

7 Things June #1

After reading sprinkleofglitter blog I have decided to start my own 7 Things
So here is my list I am not going to try and do these all in a week but hopefully will all be done/started by the end of the month, obviously I will keep you guys posted.

1) To sort out my wardrobe I only want clothes I like, that fit and that I will actually wear.  I am a bit of a hoarder so have a some outfits that have been hanging around for years, others have been kept in the hope that I will fit into them again, so I think a good old sort out is in order.

2) To get back on track with Slimming World I reached target 22nd March and although the last time I went I was still within target (just), I didn't go last week and I have been very naughty and getting lazy.  Slimming World is easy to follow but does require planning like making sure you have lots of free food in the fridge, buying the ingredients to make your meals from scratch and not buying lunch at work.

3) To join a gym so I can start swimming and exercising more regularly (well to be honest I don't think I have been in a swimming pool since my last holiday to Turkey in September)

4) To start knitting again, I haven't knitted anything for well over a year now but love nothing more then sitting in front of the TV knitting, it really makes me feel like I have achieved something and not wasted a day.  I did start making booties and mittens for premature babies and would love to knit a few more to send to a local neonatal unit.

5) to plan my blogposts I have lots of products that I have featured in hauls and not written full reviews, so I want to start getting a bit more organised.

6) To start the BBC Big Read I know this is from 2003 but every year I say I am going to try and read as many as I can from the list but still not started (obviously this one will take a considerable amount of time)

7) To finish painting the garden fence, at the moment only two panels are completely painted would be nice to have all the panels the same colour for some part of the summer.

Wish me luck (p.s if anyone knows how I can make my spaces smaller between paragraphs please let me know it is driving me nuts)
